SETTING UP LEVELS IN REVIT


LEVEL IN REVIT

  • Go to any one of the Elevation view
  • Click Architecture Tab – under Datum Panel we can find levels
  • Short cut key of Level is LL.
  • This command helps to add levels to the model.


Placing the level in the elevation

  • Levels can be added only to the elevation views
  • After clicking on the levels icon move the mouse the elevation and drag the mouse vertically across the edge with out level head.
  • A dotted line acts a guiding point to create the height.
  • Once level is created.
  • The height of the level can be altered by clicking on the dimension and editing it .(example- 3000 -4000mm)
  • Arrow head can be aligned to other side.

How the Arrow head can be aligned to other side?

  • When we click the level created, it gets highlighted and we can see check box on its either sides.
  • If the box is checked on left the arrow head will be visible in the left.
  • If the box is checked on Right the arrow head will be visible in the Right.
  • If you want the level head display on either side then check both the boxes on either side

When does the level will not be shown the project browser? Why this happens?

  • Once we add level through Level icon it will be reflected in the Project browser.
  • But some time we tend to copy a existing level and make new levels based on heights required.
  • In this particular case of copying where , the level will not be reflected in the project browser.

How to add these levels to the projects?

  • Click View panel – Under Create Tab – Click the drop arrow of Plan views  -Inside this click Floor plan
  • New floor plan dialogue box opens – Select the Level 3 and click ok.
  • Level will be added to your Project Browser.
